A dyslexic pupil at St David’s College found her freedom to learn when she discovered a release from anxiety through our digital transformation project, which gave her new options to access her learning.
St David’s College was established just over 50 years ago as a school with a very specific purpose. The Founder Head in his inaugural speech said, “St David’s is not just another independent school it has been brought into being for a specific purpose.” He went on to explain how it is not just about academic learning but also about character forming and the discovery and release of creative gifts in each pupil. Over the years the very specific and unique formula St David’s College offers, removes barriers to learning and enables pupils to reach their potential and that this formula of education which is applied to pupils with some or no barriers, learning together, is unique and world class and stems from our core value of forming character for learning and leadership.
The article illustrates how Ella has discovered the freedom to learn as her gifts have been released, her anxiety dispelled and her intellectual integrity demonstrated through her use of assistive technology.
