Earlier this year, The Royal School entered the Muddy Stilettos Best Schools Awards and are proud to have been selected as a finalist.
Muddy Stilettos’ commented “We’ve been blown away by the quality of entries across our 11 categories showcasing modern, well rounded, pastorally strong education and our expert panel have narrowed it down to five finalists per category. Judges have also chosen a number of schools as Highly Commended in each category. The Winners will be announced on 14 June 2022."
Mrs Pippa Smithson, Head of The Royal School, said: “We are delighted to have been nominated as finalists for the ‘Special Sixth Form’ Muddy Stilettos Best Schools Award as well as achieving Highly Commended for ‘Happiest Boarding School’. These are national awards and with over 400 schools entering the competition this year they place The Royal at the forefront of these two areas. People make a school and these awards reflect what a happy and special place The Royal is. When pupils are happy, they thrive and that's what makes them achieve as highly as they do here. The panel of judges are eminent in the world of education and we are honoured to have been selected for these nominations.”
The Royal School was also recently ranked 12th nationally in The Sunday Times 2021 Parent Power for independent secondary (small sixth form). The rankings use the most recent moderated public examination results from the state and independent sectors. This achievement is a reflection of the school’s excellent results and high value added scores. The Royal achieved the highest value-added percentile for its A level results in 2021. This means that Sixth Form students at The Royal School make more progress at A level than they would in 100% of other schools.
