Westholme School is delighted to welcome Charlie Jackson as their new football coach, an appointment that reflects the school’s ambitious sports development plan.
Charlie joins Westholme with a wealth of experience coaching players at the highest levels of the game. His passion and proven track record will play a key role in shaping Westholme’s vision of providing every pupil, from Reception through to Sixth Form, with outstanding opportunities to participate, develop and excel in football.
During his career, Charlie has aided the development of Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson and Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay who has recently been nominated for the Ballon d'Or award. Charlie has also been a coach at Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City, where he continues to work with the Junior Academy.

I’m incredibly excited to work with players across all age groups and help shape a football culture rooted in excellence, unity and passion. With Charlie’s guidance, football at Westholme will be underpinned by a philosophy of excellence, inclusivity and progression.
He will work closely with the school’s wider sports team to deliver high-quality coaching, giving students the chance to flourish whether they are just starting out or aiming for elite level performance.
He also plans to make full use of Westholme’s first-class facilities, including the Astroturf pitch, sports hall and extensive grass playing fields.
Westholme aims to strengthen links with local and regional clubs, opening up opportunities for students to engage with professional coaching, competitions and player development pathways. Current Westholme students signed with clubs include Finn in Year 8 with Blackburn Rovers, Chloe in Year 9 with Fylde, Kaden in Year 8 with Burnley and Harrison in Year 10 with Port Vale.
