Ranked for their academic excellence against some of the country’s 900 secondary schools, King’s appears in ninth position and is the only independent school in Worcestershire to have been ranked for four consecutive years.
Acting Head, Dr Alison Oliver, was delighted with the School’s recognition and said: “King’s Worcester is delighted to be recognised for its academic excellence. Last year’s examination series saw 41% of all GCSE grades – secured by 151 Year 11 students – being awarded at Grades 8 and 9. It is no understatement to say that we were thrilled with their hard work and success. At A Level, with 134 students in the year group sitting over 400 A Levels, 25% of students achieving all A or A* grades is a standout achievement.’’
This year’s GCSE and A-level pupils have done incredibly well academically, as well as embraced the countless opportunities available outside of the classroom, continuing King’s commitment to providing a holistic education.
Alongside academic excellence, the School develops well rounded young learners through initiatives such as its Life Skills Programme, the KSW Electives Programme and its impressive sports offering, the latter of which has seen the school named in the top 1% of sporting schools in the country.
The Sunday Times Parent Power guide is an annual publication that ranks schools based on their academic performance (A-level and GCSE results). It serves as a valuable resource for parents seeking to review educational opportunities for their children.
