Senior school students at award-winning, independent day and boarding school LVS Ascot, on London Road, Ascot, performed Disney’s the Little Mermaid from the 2nd of December through to the 4thof December 2021 at our on-site theatre to a packed house (within COVID guidelines).
This was the first live performance for the senior school since Covid: with an in- person audience. A cast of over 75 cast and crew took part in the production. Pupils from across years 7 to 13 filled the main parts. There were collaborative efforts throughout the school with the Infant Junior School making all the light up recycled plastic fish.
Jessica Clark, Head of Performing Arts and Drama said “It has been almost two years since we created a full-scale production and what a joy it was to be back on stage. We had a fantastic cast and backstage crew of students from Year 7 through to Year 13 who were all phenomenal and I am very proud of all the hard work they put into the show. The rehearsal period was a challenging one, with many isolation periods and other obstacles but the resilience of the students was outstanding, and their performances were amazing! The rapport the cast and crew have built is wonderful and to see them all getting on so well was as rewarding as seeing their final performances. We have all made wonderful memories putting this production together and it is so fantastic to be back performing in front of full audiences”.
