The National Mathematics and Science College (NatMatSci) is celebrating the best-ever A Level results, with an outstanding 86% of all results being awarded the top A-A* grades, and over half of students achieving A*A*A or better. This comes in a year where the college welcomed its largest-ever graduating cohort, 25% bigger than last year.
Specialising exclusively in STEM subjects, recognised as the most academically demanding fields, NatMatSci’s achievements this year are particularly remarkable:
- 86% of results awarded A-A* grades
- 54% of results awarded A* grades
- 96% of results awarded A*-B grades
Outstanding Oxbridge Successes:
NatMatSci’s students once again demonstrated their world-class calibre, with a remarkable set of students making their Oxbridge offers:
- Basil – Engineering, University of Cambridge (Trinity College)
- Danills K – Mathematics, University of Cambridge (Emmanuel College)
- Daniil S – Mathematics, University of Cambridge (Trinity College)
- Dylan - Psychological and Behavioural Sciences, University of Cambridge (Wolfson College)
- Ilia – Economics, University of Cambridge (Girton College)
- Justin – Economics, University of Cambridge (Trinity College)
- Mehdi – Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Oxford (Corpus Christi College)
- Nathan – Engineering, University of Cambridge (Homerton)
- Sofya – Biomedical Engineering, University of Oxford (Trinity College)
- Vadim – Engineering, University of Cambridge (Churchill College)
- Vadym – Economics, University of Cambridge (Lucy Cavendish College)
Dylan graduated from the College four years ago with straight A* grades, since then he’s completed military service in his home country and graduated from Yonsei University where he read Biotechnology, but will now shift focus to study undergraduate Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at Cambridge.
Daniils K and Mehdi, who both secured and met coveted offers from Oxford and Cambridge, have elected to take a different – and equally elite – path. They will be studying in Paris at the world-renowned École Normale Supérieure, having each been awarded significant scholarships. ENS is one of France’s most selective institutions, famous for its rigorous academic training and for producing Nobel laureates, Fields Medallists, and leading figures in academia and public life.
Each different cohort brings with them their own passion and focus, this year we’ve seen outstanding success in various areas. Economics was a particular area of strength, with multiple students earning places at Cambridge building on their many competition successes during the last two years.
Medicine has again seen extraordinary success —with all medical applicants achieving their first-choice offers, including: Imperial College London, University of Bristol, Newcastle University, University of Birmingham, University of Leicester, and the University of St Andrews.
Beyond Oxford and Cambridge, students will join leading institutions such as Imperial College London, UCL, King’s College London, University of Edinburgh, and University of Bristol, among others.
“This is an outstanding achievement for our students and our staff,” said Dr Andy Kemp, Principal of NatMatSci. “To deliver our best-ever results with our largest cohort ever, in some of the most challenging subjects, is a true testament to the talent, dedication and focus of our students. These results build on their many Olympiad and competition successes over the last two years, with two of this cohort achieving Silver medals in the in International Chemistry and Mathematics Olympiads respectively this summer. NatMatSci is a place where talented and passionate mathematicians and scientists can thrive, and this year’s results reinforce that there is nowhere better to pursue your passion for STEM!”
