The Priory Farm at St Augustine’s Priory is teeming with new life as the spring lambs are enjoying the sunshine, the day old guinea pig pups are coming to terms with the world and the newly hatched chicks are also thriving. At long last, some sunshine provided the lambs with the warmth to enjoy a well-deserved afternoon nap!
St Augustine’s Priory, Ealing Catholic independent day school for girls, rejoices in over twelve acres of grounds in which their Priory Farm is situated. A school farm is a rare occurrence in London and with chickens, ducks, guinea pigs, sheep and three pygmy goats, it is a wonderful centre for the school’s pupils, from Nursery to Sixth Form, to learn about animal husbandry and provides a venue for some excellent cross-curricular activities. St Augustine’s Priory also welcome visitors from other schools to learn about the animals and enjoy the well-being that the company of animals provides.
More guinea pig pups and yet another lamb are expected any time and the pupils have been welcoming the newcomers with open arms.
