On Wednesday 6th July, students at Box Hill School celebrated after the Class of 2022 achieved a fantastic 92 per cent pass rate in the IB. 82% of the cohort got 30 points or above, with the top achiever gaining 38 points.
In the IB diploma, which is different to A levels, students undertake a rigorous programme of 6 advanced subjects, as well as researching an extended essay, performing 150 hours of community work, and studying critical thinking and the theory of knowledge.
This is a real achievement from the whole school, and it has been refreshing to see just how much the students have enjoyed being back after a year of their studies spent virtual learning. These results are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and resilience of this year’s IB cohort and all our staff.
Box Hill School has performed very well in traditionally academic subjects such as English, Maths, Further Maths, Geography, and Chemistry as well as performing strongly in Economics, Business Studies, Psychology and PE.
We wish all these students the best of luck in their future studies at prestigious universities and thank them for being fantastic Box Hill School ambassadors.
Headteacher, Mr Lowde commented that; “Box Hill School offers both the A level and the International IB curricula. We are consistently above the world average for our international qualifications and, yet again, I am thrilled to celebrate the success of our students, who make us so proud.”
