On Saturday 28 January, 25 girls from The Royal School’s Year 6 to Year 13 took part in an amazing Surrey Storm Netball Experience.
They started with a training session led by Surrey Storm Juniors Coach, Ella, and Surrey Storm Goal Defence, Felisitus Kwangwa.
They were put through their paces to develop their reaction skills, passing accuracy and game development. It was a fantastic opportunity for the girls to have an elite player coaching them on the very same court that Surrey Storm played on later that evening!
After some food and a visit to the Fan Zone the day culminated in seeing Surrey Storm dominate the Leeds Rhino, in a fast paced and physical match.
Miss Whitworth, Head of Girls’ PE, said “The girls were a credit to themselves and the school. Surrey Storm coach, Ella, commented on what a super group they were, so polite and receptive to the coaching advice.”
Mrs Cartwright, Head of Prep PE, added, “The girls took a lot of tips from the game and their GS in particular, who was clinical in her shooting. There was a real buzz in the audience and we all had a brilliant time.”
