World famous children’s author Jeff Kinney recently presented his No Brainer Show to a sell-out audience at the Croston Theatre, Westholme School, Blackburn.
It is one of only two venues that American Jeff – best known for his book series Diary of a Wimpy Kid – is performing in the UK after completing a 13-date tour of the West Coast of America.
The No Brainer Show has been described as “An outrageously entertaining one-hour event.” Audience members will be invited to join Jeff on stage and face-off in brain-challenging game show-style events to support their local library.
Jeff entertained the audience, with many getting up on stage throughout the show. Two families were challenged to a Family Face Off, with a range of books up for grabs, and a librarian chatted with the author about her love of books and how they inspire children.
Jeff also did a live ‘draw-a-thon’ with audience members drawing their own Gregg character.
More than 275million copies of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books have sold globally and the series was developed into feature films.
Vivienne Davenport, commercial director at Westholme School said: “Jeff was an absolute delight on our Croston Theatre stage and thoroughly entertained us all with his No Brainer show. Many of our pupils regard Jeff Kinney as one of their favourite authors, and so it really was very special to have him at Westholme. It was another brilliant evening, brought to us once again by our friends at Book, Bean and Ice Cream.”
