It was with great enthusiasm that The Royal Prep School’s Reception class welcomed their family members into the classroom on 9 February for their much anticipated, Dinosaur Tea Party!
The children spent the morning in the school kitchen preparing an array of tasty treats. They carefully selected sandwich cutters shaped as herbivores or carnivores according to the sandwich filling they were using, and designed Dino Egg biscuits with edible glitter.
Reception pupils have been working very hard to produce a variety of topic related written work, including labelled dinosaur pictures, poetry and some dinosaur speech bubbles. Alongside this, they were also excited to show their families the dinosaur eggs they had created using papier-mâché, their dinosaur skeleton straw pictures and the salt dough fossils that they made whilst learning all about palaeontology!
Miss Sammy Collins, Reception class teacher, said, “The children threw themselves wholeheartedly into this dino-tastic event and it was the perfect opportunity to welcome our lovely parents into the classroom for some delicious sandwiches, biscuits and a dinosaur shaped jelly skeleton!”
