The team travelled up the day before for a practice session using the new British shooting target and scoring system. The competition started with a prelim and team round. After a quick warm up, the shooters had 20 shots in 20 minutes to achieve their total score.
The Junior team got off to a great start, with Lucy G achieving the top score in the prelim round, qualifying for the final and becoming the Junior Schools National Junior Champion! The team of Lucy G, Katrina S, and Ruby P finished 8th in the Junior team competition.
In the Intermediate event Reuben C had a great prelim round, shooting 172 and qualifying for the final. Once again he held his nerves to take the individual silver medal. The intermediate team also shot well with Reuben C 172, Grace H 164, and Henrietta J 162 to take team gold retaining the Intermediate trophy and crowned National Champions.
The last event of the day was the Senior competition. The team had some good shooting results with Thomas J, Honor G and Miller B taking a team silver.
The day was a great experience for the whole team who were a great credit to the school during the event. By the end of the day Leweston was top of the medal table, placing them top Pistol Shooting School Team in the country!
