Year 9 pupil at The Royal School, Charlie, recently filmed an online campaign for The Children's Society. She was so affected by the incredible work of the charity that she refused her professional acting fee, instead donating all of it back to the charity.
Charlie said, "There are still so many children in our country that face exploitation and neglect and I am completely in awe of the brilliant work that The Children's Society do to support them through such challenges. Their Give Hope Campaign is particularly poignant at Christmas as your donation goes directly to their support worker who will buy a child books, food and essentials or even a trip to the cinema at Christmas! I hope that my donation will bring a smile to less fortunate children."
Head of The Royal School, Mrs Pippa Smithson, commented, “Charlie joined The Royal School relatively recently and immediately established herself as a talented actor with a big heart. At The Royal School, we encourage our pupils to stand up for what they believe in and to make a difference where they can. A small donation can make the world of difference to a neglected child this Christmas and that is exactly what Charlie has done.”
