A Festival of Learning was held at St Augustine’s Priory on Monday 18th March, showcasing the academic work of pupils from Year 6 to Year 13. The students at this Ealing Catholic independent school for girls welcomed parents for an evening where they discovered more about the extensive opportunities on offer at the school.
As Headteacher, Mrs Christine Macallister commented, "Our Festival of Learning shone a light on the creative learning and innovation that takes place over and above the core curriculum. The insightful conversations and presentations unveiled the love of learning and wider cognitive skills that students develop at St Augustine’s Priory and I am extremely proud of them".
From the Sixth Form travel scholarships to the Year 6 EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) and Year 9 HPQ (Higher Project Qualification) work and from the Model UN and Mock Trials via Stretch and Challenge and the art showcase, a wide variety of all that makes this school unique was exhibited.
In addition, the audience enjoyed a keynote speech from Dr Daisy Lund, former pupil at St Augustine’s Priory, a practising GP, GP trainer and medical educator at Imperial College London. Dr Lund is co-host of podcast ‘In a Nutshell’, the podcast of the plant-based health professionals in the UK and she gave a fascinating talk on her career journey, nutrition and the need for life long learning.
The St Augustine’s Priory Festival of Learning was a stimulating and absorbing evening, which was valued, by pupils and parents alike.
